We are looking for someone with previous hands-on experience in repairs and installations. Someone that has the ability to multitask and has an outgoing and polite personality, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the safety, comfort, and presentation of our property to the highest standards. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. Location: 100 Princes Street, EdinburghEmployment Type: Full TimeWorking Pattern: 5 working days a week with 2 days off, with both early and late shifts. Key Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician:<ul><li>Perform a wide range of maintenance tasks including repairs to fixtures, fittings, and equipment.</li><li>Respond efficiently to maintenance requests.</li><li>Maintain and care for tools, materials, and supplies required for maintenance duties.</li><li>Carry out minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting work as needed.</li><li>Support with scheduled and reactive maintenance across guest rooms and public areas.</li><li>Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and internal standards.</li><li>Communicate effectively with all departments to minimise disruption to guests.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any ongoing issues.</li></ul> What are we looking for? <ul><li>Previous hands-on experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.</li><li>A broad skillset across basic trades such as plumbing, electrics, painting, and carpentry.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the ability to multitask.</li><li>A working knowledge of health and safety, COSHH, and manual handling standards.</li><li>Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.</li></ul> Red Carnation Hotels is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
