We are looking for a full time Maintenance Technician. We are looking for someone with previous hands-on experience in repairs and installations. Someone that has the ability to multitask and has an outgoing and polite personality, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the safety, comfort, and presentation of our property to the highest standards. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

100 Princes Street is our first hotel in Scotland and is home to 25 iconic guest rooms and five suites. The hotel’s two signature suites – The Archibald and The Isobel – boast direct views of Edinburgh castle. The interiors of 100 Princes Street are inspired by Scottish explorers and their travels. Scottish artisan weaver, Araminta Campbell, was commissioned to create five bespoke tartans for the hotel, that adorn the walls of every bedroom and suite. A number of bedrooms enjoy stunning views across Princes Street Gardens towards Edinburgh Castle. All guest rooms are equipped with every mod-con, including charging points for a variety of devices. The Wallace is our all-day lounge, dining room, well-stocked bar, library and tasting room, guests can dine on delicious hearty fare, made using the freshest local produce while sipping on a single malt or artisan gin, or relax and enjoy traditional afternoon tea while gazing at Edinburgh Castle.
Key Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician:
- Perform a wide range of maintenance tasks including repairs to fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
- Respond efficiently to maintenance requests.
- Maintain and care for tools, materials, and supplies required for maintenance duties.
- Carry out minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting work as needed.
- Support with scheduled and reactive maintenance across guest rooms and public areas.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and internal standards.
- Communicate effectively with all departments to minimise disruption to guests.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any ongoing issues.
- Accompany any third party contractors when in house.
- Assisting in organising any repair, installation and renovation projects.
- To assist with maintenance issues as they arise during the day running of the property.
- Carry out routing maintenance in guest bedrooms, staff service areas, back of house and guest public areas.
- Have the ability to act quickly to resolve emergency issues ( power outage)
- Assisting in overseeing the hotel infrastructure to ensure that property is functioning safely.
What are we looking for?
- Previous hands-on experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- A broad skillset across basic trades such as plumbing, electrics, painting, and carpentry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the ability to multitask.
- A working knowledge of health and safety, COSHH, and manual handling standards.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Professional plumbing or electrician qualification.
