We are looking for a passionate Breakfast Chef de Partie to join the close-knit culinary team at The Egerton House Hotel on a permanent, part-time basis. Working alongside Executive Chef David MacDonald, you will have the opportunity to put your personality and culinary expertise into one of the most important moments of our guests' stay- breakfast! From beautifully prepared classics to thoughtful individual touches, you will help create a warm and memorable start to the day while supporting a kitchen culture built around care, high standards, learning and teamwork.

Location: The Egerton House Hotel

Employment type: Part-time 24 hour contract, permanent.

Working pattern: 3 days per week, 6:30am-3pm

What you'll be doing:

You'll take pride in preparing and presenting consistently high-quality breakfast dishes, helping every guest begin their day with an experience that feels personal and generous. Working closely with the Executive Chef, you'll support menu planning and preparation, follow recipes and presentation standards with care and maintain effective portion control while helping to minimise waste. You'll monitor stock and ingredient quality in line with hotel standards and occupancy, while supporting junior chefs and kitchen porters through busy services. By sharing your knowledge, encouraging creativity and treating colleagues with kindness and respect, you'll contribute to the supportive, close-knit kitchen culture for which Red Carnation Hotels strives.

What are we looking for:

We're looking for someone with around two years' experience as a Commis Chef, or comparable practical kitchen experience, who feels ready to take the next step. You'll bring a genuine enthusiasm for food and presentation, strong attention to detail and an understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures. Relevant certifications would be an advantage. You'll be organised and comfortable managing your time during a busy breakfast service, with the confidence to support and encourage less experienced colleagues. Most importantly, you'll bring a positive, adaptable approach, remain calm when service gets busy and take genuine pride in creating thoughtful, memorable experiences for both guests and colleagues.
