We are looking for a passionate and innovative Duty Manager to join our team at The Lodge at Ashford Castle as part of The Red Carnation Hotel Collection.
Who are we?
The Lodge at Ashford Castle is sitting within the magnificent 350 acre estate of Ashford Castle, this property overlooks magical Lough Corrib. Originally built in 1865, The Lodge offers country house charm, fine dining in Wilde’s Restaurant and an exceptional range of estate activities. One of Ireland’s finest wedding destinations, pairing warm Irish hospitality with a modern appeal.
Key Responsibilities of a Duty Manager:
- Oversee daily hotel operations, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction and service quality. You will assist with the management of front and back-of-house operations during your shift and support the team to deliver exceptional service.
- Ensure all guests receive prompt, courteous attention and personalised service. Address guest complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner, striving for swift resolution and follow-up.
- Assist Heads of Departments (HODs) in coordinating daily tasks and ensuring that the hotel runs smoothly. Motivate, support, and lead the team on shift to meet hotel service standards.
- Ensure the hotel maintains compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations during your shift. Monitor areas for safety and cleanliness and ensure a safe, secure environment for guests and staff.
- Uphold the high standards of the hotel by monitoring the quality of service delivery, cleanliness, and overall guest experience. Support the achievement of key performance metrics, including guest satisfaction scores.
- Take responsibility for the hotel in the absence of senior management. Ensure that all departments are coordinated and functioning efficiently during your shift.
- Proactively anticipate and resolve operational issues. Manage guest challenges and concerns promptly and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
What We Are Looking For?
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a luxury hotel environment or high-end establishment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support team members.
- A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A proactive and energetic approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong knowledge of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance departments.
- A genuine desire to ensure that every guest has a memorable stay, with attention to detail and service excellence.
